PRINCIPLES OF INTERNSHIP REPORT AND GRADUATION THESIS STUDIES 

1. AIM

These rules and regulations were prepared in accordance with 21th article of Erciyes University Regulations on Education and Examination. The aim is to determine the principles of internship and final projects of faculty students so that their knowledge level can be tested on the basis of educational programs’ desire level. 

2. YEAR OF STARTING

Erciyes University Economics and Administrative Sciences Faculty students who are in the third year of academic life and enrolled in at least one lecture from third year lectures, are obliged to start their studies of internship or graduation thesis under the supervision of faculty advisor assigned by the head of the relevant department. 

3. PREFERENCE

Students decide whether they choose internship or graduation project with the consent of the research manager. Principles of graduation projects are also applied to internship. In this case, students start administrative procedures related to internship by filling a petition. 

4. INTERNSHIP REPORT AND GRADUATION PROJECT

Internship report and graduation project consist of two phases: research project phase and research report phase. Second phase is the continuation and improvement of the first phase. 

5. RESEARCH TOPIC

Research topic is determined by research manager considering the students ability and training. Research topic should selected from the examples of application programs and be one of the science branches of research manager’s expertise. The agreed topic must be as applicable as possible. 

6. APPLICATION PROGRAM

Application programs are organized by dean’s office and announced to students and research managers on dates specified in the schedule. Research managers are consist of faculty members. Every research manager is allocated to student quotas considering their missions and titles by dean’s office. Research managers are responsible for allocating two hours per week to students’ internship and thesis studies. This two hours is located in the weekly course schedule.  

7. RESEARCH PROJECT (PRELIMINARY RESEARCH REPORT)

The research project should consist of approximately five typed pages and contain instructions about the subject of research, the importance and purpose of the subject, limitations and assumptions of the subject, research method, temporary plan, and provisional bibliography. 

8. SUBMISSION DATE

Each students deliver their research project or research report to research manager on the dates specified in the schedule.

9. UNSATISFACTORY/REPETITION

Students who need to repeat the internship or thesis studies have to do the same operations related to research by adhering to the same research manager all over again. 

10. EVALUATION

Internship or thesis studies are evaluated over 100 points. Final grade is calculated by summing the 30% of research project grade and 70% of the completed work grade. Students should have at least 50 points from each grade in order to be successful. 

11. THE MISSIONS OF THE STUDENTS AFFAIRS

Faculty student affairs unit is obliged to keep track of the status of students’ achievements and send “internship/final project results lists” to research managers by organizing “internship/graduation project tracking cards” separately for each research managers.

12. RESULT LISTS

Every research manager send the “internship/final project results lists” showing the students’ grades and averages to student affairs unit until the deadline specified in the schedule. 

13. SCHEDULE

Relevant must comply with the date shown in the “internship/graduation project process calendar” in their internship report and graduation project studies.

14. VALIDITY

These principles and procedures is conducted by the relevant department chairs.
