IMPORTANT - Distance Education Announcement

The announcement made by our University regarding the distance education of the courses offered in our undergraduate and graduate programs is as follows.

 It is importantly announced to our students.

After the Council of Higher Education announced that universities with the necessary infrastructure will be able to continue their education and training activities in the form of distance education as of March 23, 2020, our distance education process will start at our university as of March 23, 2020 in our associate, undergraduate and graduate programs. Our main goal in this process is; It is the completion of the theoretical curriculum of all the courses (except the applied courses) in the spring term curriculum of all our programs with the distance education format, and the applied courses and exams are made face to face within a compressed calendar after the academic calendar update, as stated in the Council of Higher Education decisions. For this purpose, it is envisaged to use two main portals for distance education in order to optimally evaluate our IT infrastructure. One of them is the currently used ERUZEM (http://eruzem.erciyes.edu.tr/) portal, and the other is the information technology department (https://erudm.erciyes.edu.tr) /) portal. The distance education planning envisaged to be carried out through these portals is summarized below:

  • The common courses (Atatürk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution, Turkish Language and Foreign Language courses) conducted at our university will continue as before, as before, Monday, March 23, 2020 within ERUZEM (http://eruzem.erciyes.edu.tr/).  ERUZEM visa exams will be held online for these courses as before.
  • All theoretical courses at associate degree and undergraduate level in 19 Faculties and 2 Vocational Schools within our university will start asynchronously as of Monday, March 30, 2020, through the system of the IT department (https://erudm.erciyes.edu.tr/), after the deficiencies of course content and materials are eliminated between 23-27 March 2020. There will be no obligation to attend the courses planned to be held in asynchronous format. Students will be able to follow the course from the course content and materials and be in contact with the instructor in charge of the course. Detailed information will be given after the necessary preparations are completed regarding the use of this portal, user definitions, system and content management. User definitions for our students and faculty members will be sent via e-mail, sms and other announcement tools. This process is expected to be completed next week.
  • The preparatory class courses in our School of Foreign Languages will continue synchronously at ERUZEM (http://eruzem.erciyes.edu.tr/) from Monday, April 06, 2020, after the end of the semester holiday specified in the academic calendar. The preparatory class arrangement studies of our other units are also continuing and ERUZEM will also provide information on the subject.
  • It is envisaged that the Graduate Theoretical courses within the Institutes will be started synchronously on ERUZEM http://eruzem.erciyes.edu.tr/ as of Monday, 23 March 2020. It is aimed that the course content and materials and synchronous course requirements will be completed next week, and the process will be carried out in parallel with the associate degree and undergraduate program schedule. ERUZEM will also provide information for graduate students and lecturers conducting these courses.

The plans summarized above will be carried out under the coordination of ERUZEM and Department of Information Technologies with our education and training units related to the and updates / changes can be made for unforeseen situations in the planning. Status updates will be shared with all our students and academic staff.
